MEET THE TEAM

Pastor Mark & Wendy

LEAD PASTOR

Mark was raised in a Christian home and loved the Lord from a young age. However, his relationship with God was not always rooted in love alone, it also was rooted in fear. Mark lived his early years believing that he could never please God. He saw Him as a strict father who was ready to punish him when he didn’t meet His standards. As a result for many years he kept God at a distance because he believed God was usually angry or disappointed in him. Thankfully the Holy Spirit led him from his religious fear based misunderstanding, to revealing God as the most loving heavenly father who was more understanding than he could have ever imagined. It changed his life, his relationships, and how he ministers to others.

Wendy and Mark were married in 1986 and were blessed with an amazing daughter, Lauren who is married to Michael, with 2 children of their own; so yes we are grandparents and loving it! Both Wendy and Mark worked in business for many years while serving in the church in various capacities. In 1996 they moved to Peterborough to take over a small church start-up as Lead pastors.  Mark’s business experience brings practical application to sermons so people can understand how to apply the teachings of Jesus to their daily life.

In Mark’s spare time he enjoys reading, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He also loves to make people laugh … which means sometimes it’s best for patients if he doesn’t do the hospital visits LOL. Wendy enjoys painting, the theatre and her number one passion: Walt Disney World! They are both ordained by Ministers Network Canada, and connected with many other ministry organizations within the body of Christ.

Pastor RYAN & Jackie SMITH

ASSOCIATE PASTOR/WORSHIP LEADER - CHILDRENS MINISTRY LEADER

Ryan grew up in a home where faith was practiced, however he never really developed a personal connection with God. The questions and doubts inside his head would often outweigh the things Ryan was taught in church. Eventually pain and disappointment in his life led him to turn his back on the Christian faith he was raised with.

The good news is that God met Ryan in this dark season of life in a supernatural way. From that point on he knew that he wanted to help other people experience the love of God in the same powerful ways he had. Ryan is passionate about stripping away religious stigmas and revealing the loving heart of Father God to people in simple and tangible ways.

Ryan and his wife Jackie were married in 2023, and together they serve in the church in a variety of ways including music and children’s ministry. They love building strong communities and investing in people whenever they get a chance. They also both have a passion for the marketplace, with Ryan owning his own business, and Jackie being a practicing lawyer. When they have free time, they love to workout, travel together and catch the newest thriller series on Netflix.
