Christian Victory Church Re-Opening Survey

The CVC leadership team is evaluating how to reopen in-person gatherings based upon current government recommendations including social distancing, and strict compliance to health guidelines.

The in person worship services we can currently provide may not be a suitable option for everyone, so we will continue to provide our online services.

Your feedback is vital in developing our facility opening plan. The leadership team at CVC wants to ensure the safety of our community, especially those most vulnerable. We want you to know that your voice, concerns, and comfort level are of the upmost importance to us. Thank you for your patience as we create a re-opening strategy that best serves our community.

How can we help?

In the midst of this global pandemic we want to do our best to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Tuesday March 17th, 2020

Our response to the state of Emergency as announced by Premier Doug Ford. Tuesday March
Dear CVC family and friends,

We were born for such a time as this! I believe our greatest opportunity can lie in the midst of
this crisis.  The church has always shone brightest with the love of Christ when times looked the
darkest.  We have always made our greatest impact in times of uncertainty and in March of
2020 it will be no different.
We won’t stop being the church but we will be suspending our gatherings at 520 Brealey Dr.
(our church building) effective as of today, Tuesday March 17th, until further notice. This means
our Sunday 10am service will move to an upgraded online experience that will now include our
praise and worship so you can participate from your own home.
All other ministry gatherings will be suspended until further notice.  This includes Men’s
Ministry, Ladies Ministry, Seniors Ministry, The Resting Place, College and Careers, Wednesday
Night Bible Study, and all Children’s Programs.

We are called to love this world and that means doing what is in the best interest of others,
which at this time includes suspending all our gatherings to protect our community and city.
Your leadership team and Board of Directors are in full agreement on this decision to take
responsibility in helping stop the spread of Covid-19.  We are available for you if you have any
questions. We are responding to this crisis seriously and deliberately while maintaining an
inner sense of calmness, hope and faith.
Please continue to ask the Holy Spirit to show you ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus and
practice loving generosity.  Maybe that means phoning a neighbour to see if you can grab
something from the store for them or helping someone who is facing a crisis during this
season.  Let’s not draw back in fear but step out in faith to express God’s generosity to a world
that is filled with fear.

Dear CVC Family,

We wanted to provide this update on our continued monitoring of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

We understand and appreciate that many families continue to feel some anxiety about this illness. It is important to note that Public Health continues to assure us that the risk of becoming ill from COVID-19 remains low in Ontario. We are following this issue closely.

To remain proactive we have increased our cleaning measures, specifically on high-touch surfaces. We will be disinfecting all high-touch surfaces before, during and after each service. We will continue to disinfect all toys used in children's church areas on a weekly basis and we have placed additional bottles of hand sanitzers throughout the church to help keep your church free of germs.

It is important to note that health authorities continue to stress the same precautions to support our health, which are those which are recommended every year for cold and influenza season. These include:

  • Hand hygiene – the most important recommendation from health authorities is to be vigilant in regular hand washing.
  • Coughing into your sleeve or arm. We ask all our parents to please reinforce that message with children at home.
  • Not touching your face
  • Staying home if you are ill.
  • Avoid shaking hands.

While the risk to our local community remains low, we are committed to working closely with our public health partners, to ensure safety and wellness.

Please visit for more information about COVID-19 symptoms and self-isolation advice.

For medical advice, you may also contact Telehealth Ontario (a free, confidential service that provides health advice) at 1-866-797-0000. A Registered Nurse will take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
