A word about giving

Giving is the greatest expression of Love. God is the greatest giver, who gave us His very best; His own son, Jesus Christ, who gave his life for us.

Giving is the greatest expression of our love for Jesus Christ and what is important to him – His church. Giving of our time, talents (skills & abilities) and treasures (money) provides us with an opportunity to partner with Jesus to touch people with his love in tangible ways.

Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of many.

Questions about Giving

Q. What are "Tithes and offerings" used for?
Your donations are primarily used to help us communicate the Gospel of Jesus to children, students and adults through the work of Christian Victory Church. We are not sponsored by any group or denomination; therefor, the vast majority of our income come from donors.

Q. To Whom is Christian Victory Church accountable?
All of the expenditures are reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors. The church also undergoes an independent yearly financial audit performed by a Chartered Accountant ans we are a member of the 4C's which sets accountability standards for charities.

Q. Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes, Annual Canadian tax receipts are mailed to your home at the beginning of February for all donations of $10.00 or more, You can receive up to 40% of your offerings back from the government through your tax return depending on how much you give and your income level.

Q. Can I donate by debit/credit card?
Yes. Follow the link under the online giving section. You can also download our free app "Christian Victory Church" on your IOS or Android device which has a secure way to give.

Q. Will my personal information be kept confidential?
Yes. We keep all personal information confidential. Your contributions are kept in strict confidence, and only those who process the information for tax receipts and use it for planning purposes have access to the records. We will not share any personal information unless required by law.

Q. How much should I give?
Many times giving in the Bible (Old and New Testament) is referenced in terms of percentages. A "tithe" (10%) of our income is generally a good place to start. For some, 10% sounds like a lot of money, and they choose to start at a lower percentage and increase the amount over time. Many other choose to give with radical generosity and give well above 10%. Everyone who attends a local church should see themselves as contributor to that local body; finances is one of the ways we can be generous. Giving, helps the mission Jesus gives us as a church and blesses the giver.

Designated Donation Policy of Christian Victory Church
Spending funds is confined to church approved programs or projects, which are determined by the Board of Directors. Each restricted contribution designated towards a church approved program or project will be used as designated. The understanding being that, when the need for such a program or project has been met, or the program or project ceases to function, or continue for any reason as determined by the Board of Directors, the remaining restricted contributions designated for such program or project will be used where most needed as determined by the Board of Directors.

Various mission projects/ministries:

  • The Good Neighbor Care Centre - they provide clothing and food free of charge to those in need. Our Church collects non-perishable food items for this organization, and can be left in the blue Blessing Barrel in the front lobby. Thank you to all those who generously contribute.
  • Windsor Life Centre - A home for abused/ drug addicted women where they are transformed and then trained to re-enter society in productive ways.
  • Life Radio 100.3 – We support Christian radio because we believe that we can partner together to share the good news to those who may never step inside of a church.
  • World Vision -  Our World Vision child sponsorships works with families and communities in Haiti to address critical needs and find sustainable solutions to poverty. Our monthly sponsorships not only begins a life-giving relationship with a child and family, it helps others in the community as funds are used to address broader needs like clean water, mosquito nets and agricultural supplies.

Thank you for your generosity, know that you are making a difference in the lives of many.

May God richly bless you.
